The course is held in a one-week session, and requires full-time attendance during this week. Lodgings and meals are organized for students unable to commute from their places of residence. The locale is the Dorigny campus of the University of Lausanne and the EPFL. Dorigny can be conveniently reached by local train ("TSOL") or by car (see below).
Sessions runs from 8:30 to 18:00 approximately, with a lunch break. As a general rule, each half-day consist of a theoretical introduction of 90-120min, while the rest is spent doing practical exercises under the supervision of the course staff.
The course is free of charge to all academic participants. For those belonging to a University that participates in the 3ème Cycle Romand (Universities of Geneva, Lausanne, Neuchâtel, Fribourg, Berne, Basel and EPFL), transportation or lodgings will also be reimbursed. We will use EMBnet funds to give limited support to participants from other institutions.
Location, housing and transportation
The course takes place in rooms INN218 and INR219 at the Informatics Department of the EPFL. The EPFL can easily be reached from the center of Lausanne by the urban railway, the "TSOL".
